Our population figures are larger than standard metro counts because they include contiguous neighboring urban areas.
Measures corporate headquarters, multinational presence, global retail and brand footprint, GDP and GDP per capita, and population growth.

Companies are rebalancing their supply chains in response to geopolitics and trade tensions. These cities are good options. They are growing export hubs with strong manufacturing and good access to connected freight networks, including air and sea freight.
We evaluated and ranked 1,500 cities using 20 key indicators. We then excluded the developed markets and selected the top ranked cities by region. We also used expert input to enrich our views and ensure a spread across multiple regions and countries.
Investors are widening their search for companies that create value in a disrupted world. These cities rank below well-known hubs like London, San Jose, and Dubai, but they have vibrant ecosystems for new companies thanks to high levels of VC financing and startups, STEM universities that provide talent, and the presence major corporations.
We assessed and ranked 1,500 cities based on 20 key indicators. For Europe and North America, we chose cities ranked just beyond the top 20; for North Asia, those outside the top 15; for South and Southeast Asia, beyond the top 10; and for the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America, outside the top 5.
Companies are expanding their geographic footprints in response to growth opportunities outside core locations. These cities are top options as they enjoy, among other things, growing populations, a vibrant VC scene, numerous leading multinationals, and strong air connectivity.

Many cities are emerging as attractive talent hubs, even if they rank below traditional leaders like New York, Hong Kong, or Amsterdam. These cities often have well-ranked universities, a strong multinational presence, vibrant tech scene, robust connectivity, and steady population growth. A few also offer faster work visa approvals and low crime rates.
